About Laughlin, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Laughlin (Known as Lizzie) was a spiritual soldier. She raised six children until her death as a single women in the days of war and a deep depression. She lost one baby named Donald at approx. 4-6 months old in 1939 buried at Sherrin's Funeral home on Kingston Road. She was deeply beloved by all of them. When her coffin was being driven down the street where she lived, her neighbors came outside and stood on the sidewalk and SALUTED as she was driven by. Lizzie had a Scottish Accent when she spoke. Lizzie attended the First Firefighters Ball held in the City of Toronto with her then Husband Frank Jones. She worn a 1920's ball dress that to date (2003) still exists in the family. Lizzie, loved Frank Jones and although they broke up several times, she continued to reconcile with him.Eventually he remarried. Lizzie never did.
