Mrs. Viet Patrichney (sic), an old and respected resident of this locality, died Monday August 20 at 10:30 p.m. after an illness of about three months. Death was due to diseases incidental to old age.
The deceased was born in Czecho-Slovakia (Bohemia) in the year 1840. Her childhood was all hardships as her mother died while she was very young. In 1856 she was united in marriage to Viet Patrichney with whom she immigrated to America. They settled on a farm in this vicinity one which they have resided every since.
The deceased is survived by her aged husband and two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Holay of Maribel and Mrs. Louis Zeman on the home farm. The funeral was held from the late home on Thursday at 10 a.m. and burial was at the Catholic cemetery in Greenstreet.
As one of the first pioneers in this county, the late Mrs. Patrichney suffered many hardships of those early days. She was a warm hearted and generous woman and everyone with whom she ever came in contact was her friend. All are moved with sympathy for the surviving members of the family.
