MADISON – Craig Jon Meyer, age 42, died Monday evening, November 25, 1996 at University Hospital in Madison. Craig was born October 19, 1954 in Manitowoc the son of Clifford (Bud) Meyer and the late Ruby Evenson Meyer, who preceded him in death in 1988. He attended Valders Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1972, and was a 1977 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He started his career with the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District in 1977. He transferred to Lapham Elementary School in 1989, where he was presently teaching kindergarten. Craig was an avid dancer and dance instructor, and performed in local productions of Alice in Wonderland and The King and I. He also enjoyed traveling and gardening. Craig is survived by his father, Clifford (Bud) Meyer of Valders; two brothers, Doug (Tammy) Meyer and Dennis Meyer, both of Valders; two sisters, Maureen (Herb Zimmerman) Meyer of Madison and Michelle (Bob Schwoerer) of Howards Grove; paternal grandmother, Vi Meyer of Valders; a niece and goddaughter, Abbey J. Meyer; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and close friends, Sheri, Carol, Billy, Ebby, and the staff, students and parents at Lapham School. A private family service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 1996 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, Valders, with the Rev. Charles Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
