Evelyn T. Hulin, 89, was born August 1, 1923 in Valders, daughter of the late Oscar and Esther (Thesen) Thompson. She was a 1941 graduate of Valders High School and received a one year post secondary commercial education at Manitowoc. Evelyn was employed by Western Union in Manitowoc for one year following graduation before moving to Chicago in 1943 where she was employed as a stenographer with Johnson Oil Company until 1951.
Evelyn married John Willard Hulin September 3, 1949 at Valders West Lutheran Church, but resided in Chicago until her husband's transfer to Fond du Lac in 1951. In 1953 they relocated to Valders where they remained until 1975 when her husband was transferred to Lindenhurst, Illinois. She was the parish secretary at Faith Lutheran Church, as well as being full time, then fill-in organist.
In Illinois Evelyn worked for several companies including a children's foster home facility under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. In 1982 the couple retired in their cottage in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin and in 1990, She relocated to a home in Valders where she remain until moving to Appleton in 2000. From 1991-1992, Evelyn maintained a second home in Newhall, California.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Thomas Haule of Santa Clarita, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hulin in 1989, a son, Thomas in 2005, a brother, Clayton in 1967.
