David J. Rank, age 78, of 723 South 24th Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, passed away early Friday morning, January 1, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born on December 26, 1937 in Manitowoc, son of the late Frank and Sophie (Marx) Rank. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1956 and then served in the United States Army Reserves from 1956 until 1964. He completed an apprenticeship with Kaufman Manufacturing Company of Manitowoc where he was employed as a journeyman machinist until his retirement in 2000. On May 22, 1965 he married Darlene Davister at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Sugarbush, Wisconsin. Dave enjoyed organic gardening and selling vegetables in Sheboygan after his retirement. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and reading. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up.He is survived by his wife Darlene; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Gerald of Whitelaw and Donald and Janet of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Julie and Scott Konik and Janelle and Michael Fiecko, all of Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Francis and Mary Rank, Two Rivers; one sister and brother-in-law: Florence and Louis Jansky, Appleton; six grandchildren: Ryan and Rachelle Rank, Michael and Cody Konik, and Trevor and Amber Fiecko; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law: Bonnie and Gordy Liebergen, Greenleaf, Richard and Laurie Davister, Luxemburg, Raymond Jr. and Sharon Davister, Luxemburg, and Robert Finnel, Denmark. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was further preceded in death by one sister: Germaine Rank; two brothers: Ben and Jerry Rank; one sister-in-law: Donna Finnel; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Raymond and Elizabeth (Krines) Davister. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Pleier with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
