Virginia M. Lauzon, 79, of Chisholm, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl.

She was born April 29, 1927, in Ashland, Wis., to Julius and Mary (Senzig) Baatz. She was a graduate of De Padua High School in Ashland, Class of 1945. She had been a Chisholm resident since 1966, and also a resident of Sand Point Lake, Ontario, Canada.

She was united in marriage on Oct. 20, 1951, in Ashland to James P. Lauzon. She worked as a sales clerk for many years at Bloomquist's and DeGroot's department stores in Chisholm.

Survivors include her husband, James P.; children Thomas (Nancy), Kathleen (Jake) Laakkonen, Phyllis (Tom) Ruper, and David (Lisa); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Don (Jackie) Baatz; special sister-in-law Rita Lauzon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerald and Vernon Baatz, and by her granddaughter, Sara Ruper.
