Mary Agnes Byrd James, age 84, of Tuscumbia, died Saturday, June 4, 2011. Mrs. James was a member of Little Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon E. James, parents, L.C. and Lela Byrd; and brother, Claudie Byrd. She is survived by her sons, W.C. James and wife, Lynn, Joseph James, and Ray James; daughters, Wanda James and Mary Ann James; sister, Connie Ledlow and husband, Pruitt; five grandchildren, Shannon, Jason, Jeff, Brandy and Bubba; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pauline Ayers. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with Hollis Retherford officiating. The burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason James, Jeff James, Bubba James, Brit Laster, Tim Ledlow, Harry Porter, Todd Porter and Ricky King. Honorary pallbearer is John Ledlow.
