He was married to Sallie Taylor (1869-1939), the daughter of William H Taylor and Mary (Richardson) Taylor.
A machine shop worker for L&N Railroad and living at 902 Montrose Avenue, Nashville, he was 85 years old and a widower when he died of a cranial hemorrhage on December 10, 1950. Burial was the same day in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
