Mr. Bland was born October 3, 1899 at Riverton and was a son of the late Seymour and Lara Burns Bland.
He was a retired farmer and former employee of the State Highway Department.
On August 24, 1920, he married the former Tina Huffman, who died November 16, 1973.
Surviving are six sons, Carroll Bland of Circleville, Ray Bland of Williamsport, PA, Jackie Bland of Hyattsville, MD and Albert, Billy and Harry Bland, all of Riverton; three daughters, Ann Thompson of College Park, MD, Lucille Teter of Montoursville, PA and Mary Tilburg of Harrisonburg; a brother, Jack Bland of Riverton; two sisters, Sally Judy of Elkins and Merlie Everly of Morgantown; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted 2PM Tuesday at Riverton United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carl Mauzy, the Rev. Denzil Moore and the Rev. Paul O'Gorek. Burial was in the Hinkle Cemetery near Riverton by Brown Funeral Service.
