ANNA CHRISTIANSON (d. 1987)

Anna V. Christianson, 72, of Valders, died Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 1987 at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Rev. Carl Peters and Rev. Michael Hamilton will officiate with burial to follow at Valders West Cemetery.
Mrs. Christianson was born June 14, 1914 at Mellen, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Rev. Robert and Helena Shaver Merritt. In 1932 she graduated from Plattville High School and graduated summa cum lauda from University of Wisconsin-Plattville in 1936. In 1936 she came to Valders and was employed by Valders Public Schools for 35 years, retiring in 1974. She was also involved in the operation of Christianson-Deja Funeral Home with her husband. She married Raymond E. Christianson on August 28, 1939 at Plattville. Mrs. Christianson was a member of National Northweastern Wisconsin and Valders Education Associations, Wisconsin Journalism Teacher Advisor Council, Journal Education Association and Wisconsin Library Association. Mrs. Christianson was a member of Valders Senior Citizens, Faith Lutheran Church, FLCW-ALCW and was a former Sunday school teacher and ___ of the music and other various committees. Mrs. Christianson was an organist and accompanist at Valders West Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-aw, Dale and Linda Christianson of Milwaukee and Bob and Karen Christianson of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Florian Wazny of St. Nazianz; two sisters, Alice Ruth Petracchi of Burlington, Wisconsin and Nancy Lou and Jasper Perkins of ___, California; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a step grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 23, 1979; two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
