Michael A. "Mike" Knier, age 33, of 416 W. Washington St., Valders, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 3, 2001.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1968 in Manitowoc, son of Grace (Fischer) Knier and the late Marvin Knier. Michael was a 1986 graduate of Valders High School.
He worked at Valders Building Supply for 9 years and was currently working at Burger Boat Co. in Manitowoc. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and served as a Lieutenant in the Valders Fire Department and Rescue.
Michael was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Valders and was a confirmation mentor. He was a dedicated member of the Valders Fire Dept., the Rockea Hunting Club, Viking Bow and Gun Club, and the Collins Paradise Snowmobile Club.
Survivors include his mother Grace of Valders, a brother & sister-in-law Richard and Lisa Knier of Brillion and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in May of 1991.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. Pastor Bill Timm and intern pastor Marcia Solberg will officiate. Burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church in Valders on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and then on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael will be greatly missed by his family and friends, yet through his generous anatomical gifts, many people will enjoy a better life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valders Fire Department, Rockea Hunting Club, or Collins Paradise Snowmobile Club.
