Mrs. Hilda Skattebo, 87, who lived with a daughter at 542 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, died at home Wednesday non following an illness of a week.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valders Evangelical Lutheran Church. Intern Lauren Espeland will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Skattebo was born June 25, 1873, in Door County, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Knute Jomen. She was married to Ole Skattebo at Valders Oct. 28, 1892, and the couple farmed two miles south of Valders for many years. Her husband died in 1904. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of Valders Evangelical Lutheran Church and of the auxiliary of Thompson-Burkhart American Legion Post of Valders.
Survivors include two sons, Olvin of Rt. 1, Valders, and Tedwald of Valders; daughter, Mrs. Lillie Anderson of Manitowoc; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great great grand-daughters. A son, Corty, died in 1933.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Berge Funeral Home, Valders, until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be moved to the church to lie in state until the hour of service.
