SON DIES JUST ONE MONTH AFTER MOTHER'S DEATH

The body of Richard Thompson, a former Valders man, was brought here from Chicago yesterday and taken to Valders for burial, the funeral being held yesterday.

Mr. Thompson was 36 years old, eldest son of K.H. Thompson, and had been located at Chicago some time. His death occurred just a month after that of his mother who is buried at Valders and the body of the son was laid to rest in the same lot.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his father, four brothers, and a sister. Mr. Thompson was a brother of Lieut. Arthur Thompson, who died on his way home from France from the effects of being gassed during the war while in the aviation service.

Tuesday Rev. White and Rev. Alfson conducted the funeral services of Mrs. Peter Knutson, who died after a lingering illness.

On Wednesday they officiated at Valders at the funeral of Richard Thompson, a young man who in the prime of life was taken away after a short illness at Chicago, where he made his home.

He is a son of Knut Thompson of Quarry. His mother died and was buried about a month ago and he attended her funeral.

He leaves a wife to mourn his loss, also his father, four brothers and one sister. Besides his mother, a sister and brother preceded him in death. Cornelia died in Oregon and Lieut. Aviator Thompson who died in New York after serving his country across trying to reach home when death came from the effects of being gassed.
