Donavan Alden aka Donavan D. Donovan, died Sunday March 30, 2014 in West Hartford, CT. from injuries suffered in an auto accident, at the age of 32. Donavan was born March 24, 1982 in New Milford, CT. He lived in Wingdale, NY until June 1989. At this time the family moved to Gaylordsville. Donavan attended New Milford schools, graduating in 2000. Donavan had been a volunteer with the Gaylordsville Volunteer Fire Department and the New Milford Ambulance Service. This sparked the beginning of his career as an EMT and Paramedic. Most recently, Donavan resided in Avon, CT close to his work at American Medical Response in West Hartford. He started as an EMT before a recent promotion to Paramedic. When not working, Donavan enjoyed role playing games, motorcycles, baking, movies and taking the path less traveled, computers, reading and Legos. He also spent much time with family and friends and his 4 footed friends. He had a quirky sense of humor. He was very devoted to those who meant so much to him. Donavan is survived by his mother, Ellen Drugan of Gaylordsville; his brother, Damian Alden and nephew, Gavin Alden of New Milford and his grandmother, Edna Morrill of Kent. Others include sisters Shannon Brockway and Stepnanie Bujold of New York State; Nancy & William Hennessy of Virginia Beach, VA and many cousins and wonderful friends. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 2 PM at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Interment will follow at the Morningside Cemetery, Gaylordsville, CT. Friends may call at the Lillis Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 2 PM.
