Dr. Suzanne Nguyen Tran, 39, of Las Vegas, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015. Henry Tran Miller, her infant son, soon followed Dec. 29, 2015. Suzanne was born Feb. 12, 1976, to Long and Chau Tran in New Orleans, and resided in Santa Anna, Calif., before moving to Las Vegas, in 2004. Suzanne graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1999, from Southern California College of Optometry in 2003 and completed a residency in cornea and contact lenses at Northeastern State University college of Optometry in Tahlequah, Okla. After moving to Las Vegas, she practiced optometry with Dr. Jim Beckwith, for four years, before opening her own private practice, Dynamic Eye Care, in 2008, with Dr. Jennifer Chow. Dr. Tran specialized in contact lenses. She loved improving her patient's vision. Suzanne had a passion for cooking, her faith, her family and friends. She also loved to travel. Dr. Tran is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Mark Miller; her parents; and her sister, Michelle Tran-Dube'. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Ave., Las Vegas. Visitation will also be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, with a Mass following, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Park-Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas.
