Richard Earl Wilson, 58, of Florahome, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a native of Jacksonville and had been a resident of Florahome for the past 15 years, coming from Jacksonville. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a retired plumber. He had served with the Georges Lake Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter and first responder. He enjoyed flying airplanes, being outside and his cats.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Carl Appleby, and his maternal grandparents, Selma and Johnny Jones.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Ruby Wilson of Florahome; two daughters, Carolyn Wilson and April Wilson, both of Jacksonville Beach; and two brothers, Ralph Appleby and Austin Wilson, both of Jacksonville.
Graveside services will be Monday, March 21, at Pine Lawn Cemetery with Chaplain Robert Johnson officiating. Military honors will follow the service.
