Michael (Mike) B. Cowley, age 68 of Barron, WI went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2016 at home after a lengthy courageous fight with cancer.

He was born on February 13, 1947, the son of Merton (Mert) and Mildred (Hansen) Cowley. Mike grew up and lived in Barron graduating in 1965. After graduation Mike worked as a Grain Belt Distributor with his father from 1965 until 1976 when the business was sold. On May 10, 1969 Mike married Rebecca Kohler, the love of his life, and together they raised 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was proud to have worked for the US Postal Service retiring after more than 30 years as a mailman.

Mike loved and devoted his life to his children and grandchildren and cherished every moment he could spend with all of them. He loved cutting lumber on his sawmill and then building furniture for all of the family. He was also an avid trout fisherman and hunter.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Becky of 46 years, daughter Melissa (Kenneth) Huff of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Sons Jim (Diane) of Richmond Hill, GA, Tom (Hanni) of Thorp, WI, Tony (Gerri) of Barron, WI and Collin (Laura) of Cameron, WI. 15 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Brother Mert (Kathy) of Chetek, WI, sister Nancy (Jim) Weise of Springbrook, WI and also by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Rhett Cowley 94173002. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Barron, WI with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Michael Cullen officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 11, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron, WI and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Lakeview Medical Center Hospice, hospice nurses and Lakeview Medical Center doctors and nurses as well as family members, friends and neighbors.
