William Charles Gault Sr., 89, husband of Betty Jane Dodson Gault for 71 years, died at home on Friday, January 8, 2016.
Mr. Gault was born October 28, 1926 in Fountain Inn to the late Horace Fletcher Gault and Lee Innes Gault. He was a lifetime resident of Fountain Inn and retired after 35 years of service with John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels. He was a past president of the Fountain Inn Recreation Department and a past Master of the Fountain Inn Masonic Lodge, where he a recipient of the 50-year membership pin. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Mike Gault and wife Lisa; a daughter, Linda Willis and husband Randy; five grandchildren, Mandy Watts and husband Joey, Wendy Rausch and husband Mike, Rev. Dustin Willis and wife Renie, Michael Gault and wife Brittany, and Melissa Spain and husband Travis; and nine great-grandchildren, Mattie Watts, Will Watts, Ben Watts, Jack Willis, Piper Willis, Janie Rausch, Gracie Rausch, Larkyn Gault and Samantha Spain. He was predeceased by a son, Bill Gault Jr.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Dustin Willis and Rev. Michael Bearden. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.
