Robert C. Abbott, Jr. D.D.S., age 90, of Newark, Ohio, passed away on Friday,
January 8, 2016. Dr. Abbott was born November 9, 1925 in Zanesville, Ohio to Robert C. and Inez (Morrison) Abbott.
Dr. Abbott was a graduate of The Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. He practiced general dentistry in Newark for 35 years, retiring in 1990.
Dr. Abbott a member of the First United Methodist Church, Somerset Lodge #76 of F & AM over 65 years, the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and the Aladdin Temple.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Force serving during World War II.
Dr. Abbott was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Irma (Myers) Abbott and his brother, James Abbott.
He is survived by his second wife, Shirley (Johnson) Abbott, of Newark, Ohio; his sisters, Yvonne Miller, Jo Ann Nelson, and Karen (Stephen) LeMasters all of Newark, Ohio and his sister-in-law, Mary Abbott of Oliver Springs, Tennessee.
