Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She cherished her testimony of Jesus Christ and loved the Lord. Some of her callings included Relief Society President, Scout Leader, Primary Leader, and she always valued her role as a Visiting Teacher. Jean was always compassionate and cheerfully served others. She also enjoyed her membership in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Jean loved her children and all members of her family. She is survived by Janet (Mark) Christensen, Regena (Ralph) Miller, Alice (Todd) Gilbert, Steven (Katrisha) Jensen, and Jennifer (Troy) Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion Reed, her daughter Ann Marie, her sister and best friend Colleen, and many brothers and sisters. Jean has 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. She treasured her roles as a homemaker, mother, sister, grandmother, wife, daughter, and great-grandmother. Norman (Jan) Leishman is her surviving brother.
Jean enjoyed beautifying her home and surroundings and made her home a heavenly place. Sewing and quilting were two of her many talents. She also loved music and appreciated beautiful things. Jean blessed all those who knew her and chose to focus on the good in each person. She loved life and all those who were around her.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Robert Nash, the staff at Right at Home In Home Care and Assistance, Community Nursing Services, and the Certified Nursing Assistants who helped with her care. All these providers gave her excellent care.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Hyrum North Stake Center, 245 North 750 East (Apple Drive) Hyrum, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net. Interment at Hyrum City Cemetery is under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary of Logan.
