Claudia H. Cottongim, 83, 34 N.W. Fifth St., Richmond, Ind., died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Reid Hospital.
Born in Clay County, Ky., on Nov. 26, 1919, she was the daughter of George and Mary Hensley Jones and had lived in this community since 1947. She retired in 1982 as a nursing assistant at Reid Hospital after 25 years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Elmore Cottongim, Richmond, Ind.; two daughters, Catherine (Ben) Isaacs, Richmond, Ind., and Diana Kay (Steve) Fox, Chandler, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Adkins; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Mallie Gray, Manchester, Ky.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Cottongim, who died in 1995; four brothers, Dave, Sandlin, Jim and William Jones; five sisters, Cynthia Baker, Lydia Bailey, Laura Hicks, Janie Rasner and ?Susie Philpot.
Funeral services for Claudia Cottongim will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, Ind., wit Rev. Steve Fox officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery.
