Mr. Horace Lampley, 88, of Rockingham joined his family and many friends in his heavenly home Sunday, January 10, 2016. He reluctantly leaves behind his wife of sixty five years, Marilyn McDonald Lampley and his special riding partner and fur baby, Paisley. He is also survived by many “children”, his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Snead Lampley; and brothers, William and Alton Lampley.

Mr. Lampley was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon. He was a retired Carman with CSX Railroad. He enjoyed his garden, sharing what he grew and loved his Ford tractor. Mr. Lampley was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, during World War II.

Services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 13th at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow at McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
