Virginia Delane "Perky" Harris, 62 of Shipman died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Hospice House in Charlottesville. Born August 3, 1953 in Nelson County a daughter of the late Ansel Harris and Hazel Mae Millsap Harris.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother; Austin Douglas "Skippy" Harris.
Perky was a member of Bethel Church of the Brethren in Arrington and retired from Cradock Terry Shoe Co. in Lynchburg.
She is survived by her adopted family James and Brenda Martin, Sandy, Vicki Campbell, Sue Viar, J.J. Martin, Jr. and his children, Ian and Danner and a special friend who was like a son to her, Bernie Bibb.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with Pastor John P. Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Cove Cemetery in Lovingston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
