Mrs. Link Clem Dies At Atchison Hospital

Mrs. Delia M. Clem, 81, a native of Doniphan County and a resident of Atchison 48 years, died at 3:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Atchison hospital. She had been seriously ill with a heart condition three weeks and entered the hospital last Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stanton & Stanton chapel. The Rev. Harold Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.

Mrs. Clem's parents, William H. Martin and Nannie E. Cobb Martin, were among the early pioneers of Kansas. He was a native Missourian and she was a native Kentuckian. They homesteaded a farm two miles north of Doniphan. Their daughter, Delia, was born there Dec. 1, 1869.

She attended the Spring Grove school. May 12, 1903 she was united in marriage to A.L. (Link) Clem at the First Christian Church here. The home is at 1123 Division.

Mr. Clem was a veteran of the Spanish-American war and was a clerk in clothing stores here. He worked for the Walsh store eight years and was with the former Leahy and Columbia stores for many years. He died May 12, 1942.

Mrs. Clem was a member of the Christian Church and when younger she took an interested part in all church affairs. She was a kindly woman and held the affection of her neighbors and a large number of friends.

Surviving is her sister, Mrs. Minnie Clemetson, 1031 Commercial Street.
