Pobert "Herbie" Ploeckelmann, 77, Green Bay, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was born on November 19, 1938, in Two Rivers to Alvin and Loretta Ploeckelmann. On August 8, 1959, Robert married Marion Sickinger at St. Luke Catholic Church in Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on October 6, 1999. On Sept. 26, 2007, he married Susan Campbell at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Robert served his country in the Army National Guard for nearly 30 years. He loved serving his country and volunteered with the Dept. of Veteran Affairs, and was a member of the American Legion Post of Two Rivers.Robert and his family organized the fireworks for the Fourth of July in the City of Two Rivers. He loved woodworking and making crafts for his children and grandchildren. Robert spent a lot of his time doing things for others - the "Jack of all trades" for anyone's needs. He also did handy work at the apartment complex where he lived. Robert respected and loved everyone he knew.He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children and their spouses, Jon Ploeckelmann, Lynn and John Maruszczak, and Jay and Kathy Ploeckelmann; grandchildren, Sarah, Robert, Josh, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Braden, and Havily; step-grandchildren, Sarah and Junior Chojnacki, Amy and Jon DeVillers, Dan Maruszczak; step-great-grandchildren, Bradey and Penelope; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln., Green Bay, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Mark P. Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
