MELLACI, Alice Louise February 16, 1928 - January 10, 2016 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor died of related aging problems on January 10th, 2016. She was 87 years old. Alice lived a good Christian life with her first husband George Hoecker and subsequently with her second husband Vincent Mellaci. She was born in Davenport, Iowa on February 16, 1928. Alice and George traveled extensively in George's job of a civilian army employee. After his death in 1978 she moved to Washington and then Phoenix, Arizona where she worked as a nursing assistant. In April 1999 she married Vincent Mellaci and resided in Neptune, New Jersey until their move to Spokane in 2003. She and her husband are members of St. Michael Traditional Catholic Church in Spokane. Alice leaves behind her husband Vincent, and three grown children: Bernard Hoecker of Ridgefield, Connecticut, David Hoecker of Neptune City, New Jersey, and Alicia Morales of Phoenix, Arizona. She also has 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Please pray for her. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, January, 14th from 4:00pm-8:00pm with the Vigil service beginning at 7:00pm at Mt. St. Michael Parish, 8500 N. St. Michael Rd., Spokane, WA 99217. High Mass will be held tomorrow, Friday, January 15th at 10:30am also at Mt. St. Michael Parish. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Donations in Alice's name can be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215 Spokane, WA 99210. The family would like to acknowledge and give thanks for the special care Alice received at Brookdale North in Spokane.
