Mary Kukila Kai Kanaloa Kapu Meyer is the wife of Waianae Sugar Plantation Luna, Frederick Meyer. Mary came from a family of ancient taro farmers. She was of pure Hawaiian descent. She preferred Hawaiian food and did not bother with the English language. Mary was a tall yet elegant lady, standing at six feet. She often wore her muumuu without shoes, as she was not accustomed to them and found them very cumbersome and uncomfortable.
Her husband loved her dearly, and it is said that he would do anything to make her happy. He provided her with her own private rooms on the top floor of the plantation mansion, where she would retreat whenever she wanted to be alone, or did not want to entertain her husband's many business, political, and personal visitors. Mary and Frederick had nine children.

A VERY BIG & WARM "MAHALO" TO ROBERT (R77ORTIZ) FOR SPONSORING MY GREAT, GREAT, GRANDMOTHER'S PAGE. IT IS NOW SUCH A LOVELY TRIBUTE TO HER MEMORY--THE ENTIRE FAMILY IS TOUCHED BY YOUR KINDNESS--(INCLUDING, I'M CERTAIN, MY G.,G.,GRANDMA!) GOD BLESS YOU!!
