A very pretty church wedding was held at Stockport on Wednesday, June 1, at the Methodist church in the village, when Miss Ethel Floughton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Floughton, was united in marriage to Stanley Risch, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Risch, all of Stockport. The Rev. A. G. Skidmore, pastor of the church, officiated.
The bride wore a most becoming gown of white georgette and white messaline and carried white roses, and her bridesmaid, Miss Mildred Risch, the groom’s sister, was prettily gowned in blue silk. The best man was Edward Floughton, the bride’s cousin. Miss Marion Risch and Miss Marjorie Hawver acted as flower girls.
Miss Edna Campbell and Mrs. Clarence Mains played the wedding marches and the bridal couple stood under an arch of roses while the ceremony was performed in the presence of about one hundred guests.
After the ceremony all went to the home of the bride, where a wedding dinner was served. Later the bridal couple started on a wedding trip by motor in the northern part of the State.
Mr. and Mrs. Risch are well known young people of the village of Stockport and many good wishes go with them for a long and happy wedded life. They will make their future home in Stockport.
Wedding announcement published in The Columbia Republican, Columbia, New York, Tuesday, June 7, 1921.
Mr. and Mrs. Risch also had another daughter, Shirley, who married Rev. William Hunter, Methodist minister.
