James Arthur Blackwell Sr., 88, of Panama City, FL, passed away Fri, Jan 22, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was born Sep 18, 1921, to the late James Roger Blackwell and Minnie Florence Mortison Blackwell of Hot Springs, AR. In 1945, he married the late Ama Lois Hicks Blackwell. He was a devoted member of First Assembly of God in Chipley, FL, a Mason and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by 4 children, Lois Blackwell Hardy of Brandon, MS, Eula Blackwell Jourdan of Destin, FL, James Arthur "Art" Blackwell II of Angar Dos Reis, Brazil, and Albert Roger Blackwell of Panama City, FL; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie, Marc, Kenneth, Jennifer, Trisha, Bradley and James; and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Thu, Jan 28, 2010 at Southerland Family Funeral Home in Panama City, FL. A private service will be held in Orlando, FL.
