Bette J. Watson Felt, 78, of formerly of Sayre now residing in Arcadia, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Fla.
Born Oct. 2, 1928 in LeRaysville, Pa., the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Goodenow, Watson. Bette was active in the Athens United Methodist Church for many years. She and her husband Andrew were co-founders of the free Thanksgiving Day dinner at the Church. She also prepared and served several other meals for the church. Bette loved to travel and enjoyed being with her family. She was a graduate of Athens High School, class of 1946.
She was a 30 year member of the Athens Lioness Club. Bette was predeceased by her sister Helen Damon.
Survivors include: Her husband of 57 years Andrew at home; her children David and Bonnie Felt, Diane and Raymond Nobles, Douglas and Linda Felt, Darren and Teresa Felt, and Donna and Terry Dixon. Her grandchilden; Kyle Felt, Brian and Lauren Felt, Colin and Nina Felt, Mark Nobles, Andrea Murelle, Amber Felt, Jason and Jessalyn Felt, and Nicole and Hanna Dixon; her great-granddaughter Morgan Marie Felt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home on Friday, May 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Sayre - Athens Lioness will have a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Felt officiating and the Rev. Martin Bovee co-officiating.
Flowers will be provided by the family. The family requests that contributions in Bette's name be made to the Sayre-Athens Lioness Club, 411 Desmond St., Sayre, Pa. 18840 or to the charity of one's choice.
