June M. Hanson, age 97, formerly of 722 Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Anna's Health Care in Sturgeon Bay.
The former June Blahnik was born on March 8, 1918 in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Seibel) Blahnik. She was a 1937 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On September 14, 1940 June was married to Milton O. Hanson. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1969. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. June enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. For many years, June volunteered at Holy Family Hospital.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law: Susan (George) Blahnik, Sturgeon Bay; Doris (Wally) Wilms, Lakeville, MN; one daughter-in-law: Sharry Hanson, De Pere; six grandchildren: David (Karin) Hanson; Michelle (Mike) Nast; Dr. Lissa Blahnik; Amy Blahnik; Erica Wilms; Kurt Wilms; three great-grandchildren: Jacob Hanson; Lauren Nast; Ingrid Nast, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Clara Blahnik; her husband: Milton O. Hanson; one son: Ronald Hanson; and four sisters.
