Glenn E. Sanberg, 92, of Kirkwood, died at Heartland Health Care Center.

He was born to Henry E. and Elnora C. Vinstrand Sandberg. On December 30, 1945, he married Mildred Easley in Knoxville. She died on October 19, 1975. On May 19, 1984, he married Doris Warner Holford in Kirkwood.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He saw action in the Battle of the Bulge and at Normandy. He worked several years in the offices of John Deere Wagon Works. In 1947, he owned and operated Kirkwood Oil and Gas bulk plant with Robert Henderson. He was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church and was active in many positions. He was a member of Kirkwood Senior Citizens and delivered meals on wheels. He served as township trustee in Thompkins Township in Warren County. He belonged to Kirkwood Lions Club. He enjoyed attending sporting events.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Gary Sanburg and Martin Holford of Kirkwood, and Steven Holford of Monmouth; daughter, Janey Cook of Monmouth; nine grandchildren; and siz great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.

Funeral services were held at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth.
