HOYT – Dennis Ray McClane, 66, of Hoyt, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born July 17, 1949 at Holton, the son of Galen McClane and Betty Blue. He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1968. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served with the Seabees in Vietnam.

Dennis worked as a meat cutter in various places. He worked at Falley’s in Topeka for twenty-five years, at the Country Market in Onaga, and he retired from Dyers Grocery Store in Wamego three years ago.

Dennis was a Catholic and a member of Local No. 576 meat cutter’s union.

He married Monica Foster. They were divorced.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Jim Abbott, and a brother, Richard McClane.

Survivors include a son, Jason McClane (Becky), Hoyt; a daughter, Shelly Mulanax (Gary); one brother, Tom McClane (Lola), Mesa, AZ; one sister, Linda Lister, Holton; four grandsons, Dalton, Dylan, Wyatt and Triston; two great granddaughters, Ava and Lila; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 22nd at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial with military honors will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family and friends will meet from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday morning. Memorials are suggested to the Dennis Ray McClane Memorial Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 280, Hoyt, 66440.
