Daugther of Francis Scott Key, composer of the Star Spangled Banner and Mary Lloyd.

She married Daniel Turner on February 25, 1829 at the Key home in Washington during Turner's single term as a United States representative from North Carolina.

She was one of Vallejo's first public school teachers.

Mother of Alice Key, Ellen Key, Rebecca, Anna Key, Francis Scott, Mary Anderson Lloyd, Daniel, Elizabeth Phoebe Howard, Edward, Janet and Emily Virginia Turner.
