Obituary—The Hutchinson News, Mon., Aug. 21, 1978—James T. (Tom) Parks—Hoisington—James T. (Tom) Parks, 81, died Sunday at Hoisington Lutheran Hospital. Born July 6, 1897 at Albany, Mo., he married Elnora May Goldsmith Oct. 30, 1920 at Miller. He was a retired Section Foreman of the Missouri Pacific Railroad and lived here since 1960, coming from Utica.
He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors: widow, of the home; sons: E. W. (Pat), Marvin L., both of Hoisington; James L., Ellsworth; Charles R., Topeka; Kenneth W., Utica; daughters: Mrs. Henrietta Holmes, Larned; Mrs. Louise Woods, Ulysses; half brother: Vergil Parks, Raytown, Mo.; half-sister: Mrs. Gertrude Smith, New Plymouth, Idaho; 16 grand children; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington; the Rev. Clarence Zimmerman. Burial in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call 1 until 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a. m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
