Funeral Services to be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Death came to Carter I Meador, age 78, at his home in the Bethel Community at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 18. He had been in poor health for several years but his condition became serious some two weeks ago, when he suffered a stroke.
Mr. Meador was born and raised in the Bethel community of Trigg County and had spent his entire life here as a farmer.
He was the son of the late Henry C. and Sephronia Wilson Meador and was married to the late Lizzie Wilson Meador. To this union twelve children were born, nine of whom survive.
Mr. Meador held his church membership at the Oakland Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz today, Thursday, December 20, at 1:30 p.m. with eh Rev. S. R. Giliam in charge. John Ralph Wilson will be the soloist.
Burial will be made in the Meador's Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Caude, Parks, Ernest, Wilford, and son-in-law Leslie Broadbent and a grandson Jimmy Duncan.
The granddaughters will be in charge of the flowers.
He is survived by five sons, Parks W. Meador of Christian County, Claude Meador, Hopkinsville, Ernest Meador, Cadiz, Alfred Meador, Trigg County and Wilford Meador of Chicago; four daughters Mrs. Jessie Turner, Hopkinsville, Mrs. Joe Morrow, Clarksville, Mrs. Leslie Broadbent and Mrs. Alta Duncan of Trigg; one brother Ivan Meador of Detroit, Mich., 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. {cadiz record}
