Verdon F. Wendlandt, 65, Herington, died Friday at the Herington Municipal Hospital.
He was born March 31, 1918, at Herington and was a lifelong resident. He was retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Wendlandt was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Herington, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Carman Association.
Surviving are his wife, Lorna, of the home; a son, Keith, Emporia; three daughters, Gloria Lamb and Kim Smith, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Chelly Wendlandt, of the home; a brother, Dale, Corpus Christi, Texas; and five grandchildren.
There will be a prayer service at 7 pm today at the Donahue Funeral Home, Herington, the Rev. Vern Christopherson officiating. The body will be cremated.
