Frances Adams, Dec. 6, 1936-Sept. 17, 2009, Frances Nina Murphy Adams, 72, of Mason Health Care, Warsaw, and formerly of Augusta, Ga., died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday at Mason Health Care. Frances was born Dec. 6, 1936, in Kosciusko County to Howard and Nina Norman Murphy. She was married Dec. 6, 1974, in Warsaw to William Phil Adams, who passed away July 6, 2009. Frances was a homemaker. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956. Frances loved embroidery and loved kids. She served as a school crossing guard in Augusta, Ga.
She is survived by five stepchildren; five sisters, Rosalee Bernhard, South Whitley, Vivian Heeter and friend Sam Grant, South Whitley, Patti and husband Randy Holler, South Whitley, Jeannie Cooper, Rochester, and Kathy Metzger, North Manchester; and three brothers, Lawrence and wife Dana Murphy, Enterprise, Ala., Donald and wife Susie Murphy, South Whitley, and Maurice and wife Jane Murphy, Akron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Robert Wayne Murphy and Michael Howard Murphy. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Lowell Burrus officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
