-- Mrs. Edith Gelder Crooks, formerly of Virden, died of a heart attack in St. Petersburg, Fla., Sunday.
-- Mrs. Crooks was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gelder, of Virden, and she was married to Elmer H. Lukins in Virden May 22, 1907, who died Nov. 1, 1918. On March 23, 1923, she married N. R. Crooks and moved to San Diego, Calif., where they lived for 16 years. Since that time they had resided in Evanston and southern Florida.
-- Mrs. Crooks is survived by her husband, N. R. Crooks; a stepson, Robert B. Crooks, of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. E. K. Lockwood, of Springfield; two nieces and five nephews.
-- The body will be received by the Berry funeral home Wednesday afternoon where friends may call until time of services there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Virden cemetery.
