Colfax – Eugene R. DuBois, 65, of Colfax, passed away at 1:33am, January 18, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Cremation has been accorded.

A full military funeral will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in April 2016.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene was born May 4, 1950 in Dunseith, ND the son of Andrew and Cathryn Allery DuBois.

He married Linda Kulig on May 7, 1993. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Christine (Dave Atkins) DuBois of Eureka, Andrew DuBois of IL, Dee (Kenneth) Smith of Eureka, and Alicia DuBois of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Marie DeCoteau of McCloud, OK, Ernie DuBois of Lexington, Carol DuBois of AZ, Darlene (Joe Paralez) Nelson of Peoria, Donnie DuBois, Joe (Kelly) DuBois, Tom Dubois, Elaine (Charlie) Postpitchal, Gerald (Donna) DuBois of AZ, and Patty Handorf of Manhattan, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Eugene DuBois, brothers, Dan, Ed, Richard, Tony, and Timothy DuBois.
Eugene was an Operating Engineer Journeyman of Local 649, Peoria.

He was a veteran of the United States Marines where he served two tours in Vietnam. While serving his country he received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Eugene was a Life Member of the VFW Bloomington.
