Harry C. "Chook" Slagle,73, of Templeton RD1 died Monday, July 9, 2001 in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township. He was born May 31, 1928 in Armstrong County to Jared and Grace (Keesey) Slagle. Mr. Slagle was an iron worker for Local 3 of Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Templeton Church of God. His other memberships included the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 137, where he was a life member; Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 896 and Iron workers of Local 3, Pittsburgh. He enjoyed camping, riding four-wheeler, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Freda L. (Reedy) Slagle, whom he married Dec. 23, 1994; three sons, Larry E. Slagle of Ford City and David G. Slagle and Harry R. Slagle, both of Templeton; one daughter, Mrs. Darl (Sandra D. Slagle) Cogley of Templeton; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, John Slagle of Callery, Jack Slagle of Waynesfield, OH and Earl Slagle of Templeton; and two sisters, Virginia Milliken of Chicora and Mrs. Louis (Nancy) Sabo, of Sunset, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Bonnie (Slagle) Crownover; five brothers, Bob, Ossore, Jerry, William and one in infancy and three sisters, Evelyn Anderson, Anna Anderson, and one in infancy. Funeral services will be held at the Bauer Funeral home, Kittanning, Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary W. Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Cochran Cemetery, Boggs Township.
