Obituary for Linda Lee West
Linda L. West, 69, a lifetime resident of Monroe, passed away in her home, Thursday, January 21, 2016.
She was born December 12, 1946 in Monroe, to George and Viola (Rohdy) Hudkins. Linda was a 1965 graduate of Monroe High School, and on February 6, 1966 she married Billy L. West in Monroe. Sadly, he preceded her in death July 12, 2007.
Linda was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, doing word circle puzzles, but most of all it was the love for her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, that she will be remembered for.
She leaves to cherish all the memories her daughter, Mary L. (Aaron L. Carothers) West of Monroe; grandchildren, Shawn and Marjorie "Maggie"; a brother, Fred (Sandy) Hudkins of Monroe; and sister, Sandra K. Hudkins of Monroe.
As well as her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Howard Hudkins, sister, Patricia Braden, and infant brother, Francis.
Friends are invited to call at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 South Telegraph Road, on Monday, January 25, from 12-2 PM. A funeral service to honor her life, conducted by the family, will then take place at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that those desiring to make a memorial gift in her name, consider the grandchildren's college fund. Linda's request was that any flowers purchased for her be bought from Aldi's.
