Odell W. Ahart, 81, of North Little Rock, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 3, 2007. He was born in Bradford, Arkansas in 1926. His family moved to Sweet Home, Arkansas when he was a child. He was a World War II Naval Veteran, serving his country as a signalman on various ships in both the Atlantic and the Pacific. He married Imogene Carson in January 1948, and they were happily married for 56 years until her death in September, 2003. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Odell retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Little Rock with 35 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean and a brother, Shelby. He is survived by a sister; Beatrice Helf of Springdale; a brother, Marion Ahart of Little Rock; a son, Larry Ahart, and a daughter, Marybeth Curtis, both of North Little Rock; three granddaughters, Veronica Jones and Kellie Curtis of North Little Rock, and Sarah Perry of Maumelle; and three great graddaughters, Lia, Abrah, and Hannah, all of North Little Rock.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff at Baptist Springhill for their prayers, love and kindness. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 909 West 12th Streeet, Little Rock, AR 72201. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock 72117 (501)835-3515. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park.
