Hayes: Shirley Sue Crotty, 80, entered into Heaven’s gates on Monday, January 18, 2016. She was born May 10, 1935 in West Virginia to Harry and Virgie Wallace, who preceded her in death. Shirley was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family, her church, her community and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. For all of us you gave your best, now the time has come for you to rest, so go in peace, you've earned your sleep, your love in our hearts, we will eternally keep.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Crotty.
She is survived by children, Vicky S. Baker and husband, Larry, Frank Crotty and wife, Amy and Robyn Dooley; grandchildren, Brian Baker and wife, Denise; Scott Baker and wife, Emily; Clay Crotty and wife, Ashley; Andrew Crotty and wife, Tanya; Kaitlyn Crotty; Garrett O’Sullivan and wife, Holly; and Madisyn Dooley; host of great grandchildren; nieces, extended family and BFF Theresa and husband, Robin Hogge.
Funeral service officiated by Reverend William Corey will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the funeral home.
