Thomas F. Atkinson, Jr., age 77, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born May 1, 1938 in Water Valley, MS to the late Thomas F., Sr. and Linda Ruth Thorne Atkinson. Thomas was a retired plumber who enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, and spending time with family.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Raymond Aven officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Flat Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with Tyler Kelly, Tommy Chandler, Daniel Harris, Sara Kelly, Bud Atkinson, and Rufus Ross serving as pallbearers.
Thomas is survived by five daughters, Gloria Riggs of Tupelo, MS, Linda (Jim) Godbold of Saltillo, MS, Felicia Harris and Kimberly Kelly both of Oxford, MS, and Kristie Atkinson of Boise, ID; one son, David Atkinson (Sara) of Pope, MS; one sister, Mary Chandler of Oxford, MS; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
