She was married on October 15, 1900 in Smith County to William Gwaltney (1847–1939), the son of John Gwaltney and Martha (Upton) Gwaltney.
A legal resident of Maplewood Lane, Nashville, she was 83 years old and a widow when she died of bronchopneumonia on May 9, 1949 at Mrs Gilmore's Nursing home on South 5th Street, Nashville, where she had been for a year. Burial was the next day in Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison [city, not county].
