Deceased had been married about four years, and is survived by her husband, her mother, and besides the above named sister, one other sister and two brothers, namely: Mrs. E. W. C. Kaempen, and George and Emil Buxmann, all of this city.
Mrs. Welsh was born December 18 1870 in this city, and had a wide acquaintance. She was a most estimable young woman, well beloved by her friends, who are many; and all during her trying illness, preserved a gentle, cheerful spirit that was remarkable and sweet.
Although she suffered keenly, her complaints were few, and she bore them with a fortitude and patience that was heroic. She was a lovely woman, and her death has brought sorrow to many homes.
The funeral services will take place from Salem church, Ninth and State, at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Friends invited to attend.
- The Quincy Daily Journal, Wednesday, May 15, 1901; page 7.
(There was a second obit 15 May 1901 in The Quincy Daily Whig as "Matilda Buxman Welch.")
