A. Charline Reed, 85, of Panama died at 3:42 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, in the Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama. The Rev. Adam Penn will officiate, with burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Panama. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Perfetti's.
She was born on March 31, 1930, in Granite City to Edgar George and Mary Jane (Shephard) Fietsam. She married Gerald Gordon "Red" Reed on Oct. 18, 1952, in Madison; he preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2014.
Her parents; one son, Rodney Reed; and a sister, Jacqueline Fiestam, also preceded her.
She is survived by two sons, Edgar "Scooter" Reed of Panama and Michael (wife Michelle) Reed of Granite City; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reed owned Reed's Ceramic Shop in Granite City for several years. She belonged to VFW Post 6628 Auxiliary and to the St. Louis Metro Polka Club.
The family suggest memorials be directed to the Union Cemetery Maintenance Fund.
