Anchorage resident, Rosan Lee Choate-Borja, 48, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 from heart and respiratory failure at the Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
Private family services will be held.

Rosan was born July 25, 1967 to Edward Zachus Choate, Jr. & Ann Louise (Murphy) in Springfield, Oregon. She moved to Alaska in 1999 and had lived in Copper Center as well as Anchorage.


“My mom liked to do karaoke and she liked going shopping with me, and my mom had a lot of good days and bad days. We loved each other a lot, I will always miss my mom,” wrote by her son, Daniel Borja, Jr.

Rosan was preceded in death by her mother, Annie L. Choate; father, Ed Choate; and sisters, Shirley Taylor and Janice Bauer.

She is survived her son, Daniel Borja, Jr., of Anchorage; sisters, Mildred A. Kennedy of Springfield, OR and Lily Thompson of Copper Center, AK; brother, James Choate of Boise, ID; sisters, Louise Anderson of Valdez, AK and Diane Firestone of Klamath Falls, OR; step-brothers, Richard Miller of Lebanon, OR and Russell Miller of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
