A celebration of the life of Lela Garrett of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Ward officiating. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery.

Lela died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in her home surrounded by her family. She grew up in Guthrie and came to El Reno in the early '80s. She received her GED at the age of 40. She was a retired secretary with Wilson Funeral Home. She was a former member of the Eagles and had attended the Baptist church.

She was a very loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, only wanting the best for her family and out of her family. She will be dearly missed by all the people whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardie and Zadie (Smith) Kinkade; granddaughter, Cindy Marie Pearce; great-grandson, David Duane Pearce III; and half sister, Daisy Woodrow.

Survivors include her husband, James Kenneth Garrett of the home; sons, James Garrett and Subrina of El Reno and Thomas Garrett and wife, Melissa of El Reno; daughters, Stacey Pearce of Louisville, Ky., and Betty Ward of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, Amanda Pearce, Krystal Pearce, David Pearce, Billy Ray Pearce, Kyle Striegel, Steven Striegel, Carlie Paige Garrett, Caleb Payne Garrett and Stevon Paul Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Desire Nicole Pearce, Alexis Marie Woods and Steven Striegel Jr.; brothers, Jack Davis of Dallas, Ed Davis of Oklahoma City, Frank Kinkade of Luther and Elmer Kinkade of Perry; a half sister, Alma Justice of Perry; and numerous other relatives and special friends.
